What we’re about
The Public Barber is a neighborhood barbershop located in Chicago’s Uptown community. We offer traditional barber grooming with a focus on the client’s experience, and an aim towards promoting the human connection. Our skilled and friendly barbers will provide precision haircuts, beard trims, hot lather shaves, and an ear to bend, in a space that is comfortable and thoughtfully designed. We are a safe space…period. Being a gay-owned shop, the safety and comfort our LGBTQIA+ family are top priority. All are welcome through our doors, and all will be treated with dignity and respect.
*While we would love to cut everyone’s hair, we are all short hair specialists. Long layered cuts, Shags, Wolf cuts, etc., are best served by long hair specialists.
